Seal handmade by a friend. Carved into the end of a wood dowel. So gorgeous!

i made all the seals with regular high-temp hot glue.  i would squirt out a glob (you'll get a feeling for how much after a few tries.  i used 3 squirts from a mini glue gun) onto parchment paper.  let it sit for 30 seconds or so, til it's not HOT but still squishy.  dip the seal into oil (i used regular old olive oil) and blot on a paper towel.

squish the seal into the wax until it *just* starts oozing out the side.  this gives you a nice round edge.  then let it sit there for another 30 seconds or so, until it's cooled.  you can pick up the whole thing- the seal with the glue still stuck to the bottom- to see if it's done.  touch the bottom of the glue- if it's still tacky, not ready.  if it's smooth, it's done!  peel it off the seal carefully, and viola!

i got into a good rhythm with these where i would place the seal into the glue, then squirt the next one while the first one was cooling.  then when the first one was done, the next one was ready for the seal, and so on.  make sense?

so, now you've got clear seals. no problem.  clean them off with a bit of denatured alcohol (from any hardware store)- you can just toss them all in a pan and wash them off.  gets any sticky oil off of there.  then.... spray paint!  i used copper, and they look great.
